J-kolonel
Hi guys, I'm living in Europe and i am a straight up noob in thee hacker society. I thought that the first baby steps were to procure some equipment however I ran into some issues, the issue being that I cannot ssh into my lan turtle although I connected it to a ethernet and it constantly seems to boot up although I did not use the config function on it. Any help?
Mr-Protocol
Try to SSH into it when plugged into USB on your computer. Your computer should get a DHCP address from the LAN turtle.
J-kolonel
As you can see I'm a bit of a noob, therefore can you tell me how can I check if it has gave me the DHCP address?
Mr-Protocol
When you plug in the LAN Turtle to your computer, it will detect as an Ethernet adapter. It should have an IP address assigned to it via DHCP from the LAN Turtle. Either ifconfig or ipconfig depending on your OS will show IP settings. I would suggest learning computer networking basics before diving too deep into what the LAN Turtle can do. It may save some headaches in the future. J-kolonel
thanks this helps me a lot. Last question, any Ideas what I would have to learn and where (if anywhere)?
J-kolonel
Mr-protocol, the answer you gave me did not solve the problem due to the connection timing out constantly and the lan turtle constantly flashing orange which means boot-up. what should I do? Mr-Protocol
Plug the USB into your computer and run dmesg to make sure it is being detected. It should give you an IP address. If you are on windows, check Device Manager to make sure the driver loaded properly. https://lanturtle.com/wiki/#!index.md
