hi,

there's 1/2 mile wifi extenders for around $30

http://www.amazon.com/Ideaworks-Range-Wi-Fi-Antenna-83-7183/product-reviews/B00W2HF3FG/ref=cm_cr_dp_qt_hist_one?ie=UTF8&filterByStar=one_star&showViewpoints=0

Questions:

- Do they work?

- Am I able to buy 3 and have one connect to the other, so I could get 1 and 1/2 mile, etc, etc

or any extenders that work for 1 full mile?

thanks.

I have an antenna connected to a 1w wifi adapter only 750mw fcc reg.  I think it does a little better than without it.  I hang out at a coffee shop in the same plaza as the one where I work.  With the 9db antenna connected to the adapter I could connect to work with okay signal.  This is only about 700 feet plus the Access point is in the attic of our building.  You have all of the building material plus all of the interference.

I am not sure if you will get 2500 feet unless it is open outdoor and there is a direct line of sight on a perfectly clear day with no interference .  The other thing to look into is what is called a parabolic antenna and yes you can bridge access points to extend them but performance suffers.
