Mk5 with Mac, no internet connection, can't update firmware

Complete n00b here, bought a Mk5 ages ago and it's sat in my desk for (quite) a while.

Trying to get it set up, keep hitting the same problem - I use a Mac, ICS doesn't quite seem able to work and even though I can connect to my home wifi, I don't appear to be able to use that to get hooked up and download the latest firmware or any infusions.

I have tried most options but I'm running out of ideas and as a newbie, I am struggling to work out where to go next so any help would be greatly appreciated.

My Mk5 firmware is v1.2.0.

Hi wifipipepo,

Please follow the "Upgrading Manually" instructions from our wiki to get to the latest 2.4.0 firmware for the WiFi Pineapple MK5.
