What IRC Client do you use?

I am currently useing IceChat. Its fun and it works for me, plus as of now it is free, unlike the Windows version of XChat.

Since it seems everyone uses a diffrent client, I am curious what other people use. Plus, if you know any clever tricks or hacks with your client list it here. When I find some for IceChat I will let you all know. :D

Yeah, google Xchat and look further down the list of results, you'll find a person who has compiled it for windows and released it free. It pays to keep your eyes open.

and http://silenceisdefeat.org/~b0at/xchat/win32/

I did and I never found that link. But it seems someone did find the suposid simple link and psoted it here.

Never mind though, after switching to IceChat I do not give a crap about XChat anymore. XChat just added a few visual features big deal. IceChat the connections are faster and stable, as well as cutting out all that BS.

Plus, it converts my smilies. I like that. :D

So yea, F' XChat for not being free in the first place and making me go through a middle man jerkoff to get it.

I'm currently using mIRC but I change when I get bored. I was using Hydra for some time because it has some good sound support. When I used to just sit on one or two channels I used Xchat, but I like mIRCs windowed approach for multiple channels.

For quite a long time I used irssi in screen. I occaisonally use gaim if other clients aren't available (the implementation isn't all that bad really).

Good Old mIRC on windows machines

xchat on linux

and coligue or something like that when I am on a crapple.

Also some times I use Chatzilla, at my last job I worked with the guy, Rob Ginda, who programmed it... also former host of the Netscape Fish Cam (he got shafted into having the fish cam in his office @ netscape).

Pretty cool program, learned a lot from him, Rob was a crazy programmer, he could look at HTML/Java script like most of us look at a pixel on the screen with a photo program, what he could do just blew the minds.... (had to work with chatzilla on a internal program to, but can't talk about it because of disclosure agreements)... nice thing is it is also open source so you can hack at it.
