I just got over an old Compaq Armada 7800, but it has some kind of Power-on password. After some googling I believe its connected to drivelock. But when I try to boot without the HDD, the password is still there,Any idea about how I should proceed?

how bout resetting the bios ? (remove and place back the mobo battery or shortcut the jumper)

(as in this :

normal jumper is 25.png then w8 a few seconds .... and place it back as it was first.

ure bios should be reset and the password should be gone or reset to standard)

I took out the mobo battery for a few minutes, and put it back in, but the password was still there and I couldn't find any jumpers in there

i had the same problem with a Compaq Armada. Just unplug it, remove the main battery and bios battery and wait 24 hours. Takes a while for the board to completely drain.

I think that it is weird that you have to wait for 24 hours.... I mean, I know capacitors can hold a charge for a good deal of time, but can't you drain the last bit by flipping the power switch once unplugged? (if not, oh well)

Try a backdoor password. Search your computer's mobo's backdoor password. Also the power-on password has to do with your BIOS not harddrive so try finding your bios jumpers you should have one it should be near your cmos chip or something.
