force IPv4 addressing on Linux?

Drop all IPv6 routes?

Just curious... why would you want to?

I just like the nice neat 192.168.*.* that normally shows up on my home network.

I realized yesterday that I don't really understand IPv6 addressing so I've been reading about it.

I get that there's 2^128 address available versus the 2^32 addresses available with IPv4. I get that it is more optimal. I just don't understand why my system wants to use all IPv6 for everything now.

Yeah, we're all going to be forced into it someday. Your systems are designed to use IPv6 when it's available and luckily this is done (normally) without requiring any input from the user. I wouldn't block all IPv6 just because IPv4 is familiar.
