Cannot install anymore infusions

Hi All:

I bought a Mark IV last year and now I am getting around to using it. I installed a bunch of packages and have the firmware at 3.0.0. I have a USB device configured and working, I do have packages on it. Verifed by SSH'ing to the device. Now I cannot download anymore packages. I see downloading, installing to USB and nothing. I check the USB, check temporary directories. I found the code on the system that downloads and installs the fusions.

All works great until I try to make a symbolic link (exactly as in the system code) - I get no space left on device. There is plenty with the exception of the /rom filesystem. Anyone run into this? I am UNIX literate and know my way around the system. But this stumps me.
