Handler Failed To Bind

Whenever i try to use the java_signed_applet exploit in msfconsole, when I run it it says "Handler Failed To Bind To xx.xx.xx.xx:4444" (My Public IP address)

it then binds the handler to my local IP address which is a problem because I would like to be able to connect to the URL from outside my network

that's how it works, you need to follow some guides on port forwarding...

Your router holds your public ip, you tell your router to forward all incoming traffic to 192.168.0.101:4444

You can only bind to IPs that your machine has, I'd imagine your public IP is assigned to your router and not to your VM.

Run your tests in your own lab and don't go venturing on to the internet until you know exactly what you are doing and have proper permissions for doing it.
