rFayjW98ciLoNQLDZmFRKD
<cough> wares </cough> sorry, I have a cold. There are was of going around Apple's DRM, one method is to burn you music to a CD, and then rip it. Allowing to give you a warm fuzzy feeling that you payed for you music, but can do as you wish with it.

Sparda
Rhythmbox is (essentially) iTunes for Linux/BSD, it's far less annoying than iTunes, the interface is similar, and it supports iPods. (but where do I get my music from if I use Rhythmbox?) eMusic is Rhythmbox's (and the consumer's) best friend. Hope I helped you move away from Microsoft's and Apple's monopoly ;)
