Jamie Woodruff Posted March 8, 2015 Share Posted March 8, 2015 Hello All, I purchased the Marc v and setup using guides found on hak5, I started to download the pineapples bars and save them onto my SD card. Eventually it resulted in me not being able to access the device interface or SSH for more than 10 seconds at a time. I checked the cron tab to see if anything was forcing the device to restart however this isn't the case. a) Is there a limit to how many payloads / scripts you can install on the device even if they are not running all at once. b) SSL Strip I can't get to work without errors: [Failure instance: Traceback e.t.c. Please can someone answer the above question and let me know if they have experienced this. I really love the device and think its a really nice peace of kit. J5x86 Posted March 8, 2015 Share Posted March 8, 2015 How big is your sd card? do you have anything running when it'S slowing down? Can you post your ssl strip log? I have several infusions installed and have never had any issues running multiple infusions, I ssh into my pineapple quite often and haven't experienced what you are seeing. The SSL Strip doesn't show a green tick when running. I have installed this from pineapple bar several times with no luck. cooper Posted March 8, 2015 Share Posted March 8, 2015 When you have such *MASSIVE* amounts of data to post, it might be worth while to put them in the spoiler tag to keep things a bit more organized. Also, since the only things that changed are the timestamp and the IP address, you could've just mentioned 1 error and say you get the same response for a multitude of IP addresses, as could be trivially seen from the screen shot. The error clearly states there's a DNS problem on the Pineapple. Could it be that you MITM'd yourself? Perhaps your uplink connection is down? Everything i did was shown in guides on the University videos. People are clearly posting there are problems with the latest firmware. You could have saved yourself a huge ass essay by just stating there maybe a problem with uplink. Which there isn't FYI. 1) Im on the whitelist so doubt it is this. 2) It has been re-flashed and SD card formatted , still same problem 3) DNS from the pineapple outwards, how can this be tested please. As Cooper pointed out there is a section dedicated to the Pineapple, although I think a few people here touched on issues to look into, I don't think it's that SSL Strip isn't working. DNS for one, is the error, but look at what you are trying to do. SSL strip, on a NON HTTPS domain/web server? The site loads an nginx page under http, but will not load under https, so for starters, I think maybe the server at 149.154.167.51 is part of the issue. In other words, nothing to strip since it can't load HTTPS, and is already HTTP, although not sure that is the cause behind your errors, try testing on a site known to have HTTPS and no HSTS enabled so you can force it to redirect from HTTPS to the HTTP version of the site. edit: by the way, I just picked one IP out of the log, 149.154.167.51 and checked it manually to see if it had HTTPS on it but didn't bother checking all the others. The fact your log is showing a range on the same subnet too, wondering, are you nmap scanning this range while trying to use SSL Strip? Can you explain what we're seeing in the log and why you believe it's not doing what it's supposed to? It may be whatever you are capturing isn't what SSL strip is expecting, such as a website with HTTPS and then trying to redirect it to HTTP but I'm not sure why all the IP's are in the same range there so asking what you are doing in addition to SSL strip...
