Pigface333
I´m about to throw my computer to hell. I´ve been trying to set up Metasploitable in VirtualBox. I´m using identical settings as my Virtual Lab but it still won`t connect to the network... Settings: Adapter 1: Internal Network (Promiscuous Mode= Allow All) Adapter 2: Host-only adapter (vboxnet0, Promiscuous Mode= Allow All) I use these settings for every VM in my lab. Any help? Pigface333
Nope. My VM simply won´t connect. Can´t get IP from DHCP. Can´t ping it e.t.c
cooper
If it's USB wifi, remove the card and reinsert it. Check the logs for errors during detection. What OS are you running?
Pigface333
Metasploitable
cooper
Doh. Sorry. And the other bit? Did anything pop up?
Pigface333
Nothing out of the ordinary in the logs to be honest. Just, though an e1000_probe is sent, makes a connection then gets interrupted by low GSI levels.
digip
Ping localhost from the metasploitable vm what happens? Never used it before but check if rhe vm adapter is working locally?
cooper
If GSI is getting in the way you could try to boot with noacpi as a(n additional) kernel param. Or maybe simply leave out IO APIC support...? Clutching at straws, I know, but we don't exactly have much to go on... Pigface333
No problem on localhost. Just the connecting to the network really...
concussi_somnair
If you're using the internal wireless lan card then that is your problem, I sugget and alfa card or something that replicated it. Internal wireless card will not properly work
Mr-Protocol
Just for clarification, the computer you are trying to connect to it with is a VM as well and also has the network set to "Internal Network"?
Pigface333
Woops, forgot about this thread. Decided to move my lab to a Windows system. Seems to be more reliable. Fingers crossed. Thank you anyways..
