wlan1 is missing.

I received my pineapple a few days ago with a working wlan1. Messed around with it from a little while then decided to do a firmware upgrade. After the upgrade wlan1 went missing. I have done a factory reset a few times with dip switches and with the web interface and still missing. I have flashed the firmware back to 1.2.0 firmware not luck. I have done a manual upgrade and now luck. I have tried wifi detect > /etc/config/wireless and still not wlan1. I am out of ideas on what to try. does iwconfig show the radio? if so do an ifconfig wlan1 up

It does not show up any where that i can find. This is what iwconfig shows.

Try going to an older version of the firmware, sounds like your pineapple may have a hardware defect

I have tried the following firmware versions.

Which firmware would you suggest trying next? It was working when i received it until I upgraded to the newest firmware. I have also noticed my sd card does not show up. I have formatted it fat32 and ext4 from a live cd. I updated my fstab config after each and still does not show up.

by the looks of your lsusb, i'd have to assume your sd card reader isnt working either?

im looking for any kind of helpful solution for you, but i cant make any promise of good news yet. maybe if Seb, Darren, or someone whom has more technical knowledge can also offer a hand as well

it may return a same result, but what about typing usbreset?

does it list the usb2.0 controller?

Was this issue ever fixed? I seem to have lost wlan1 as well. I think after the upgrade to 2.x. SD card reader works without issues...

My issues was i had no wlan1,usb or sd card. After hoping on IRC and talking to Sebkinne I had a bad pineapple. A new one was shipped out to me and now i'm a happy pineapple owner.

As far as I can see, there's no mention of a wlan1 anywhere. If I add an external USB wifi card, I can use that as wlan1 without issues...

It seems that radio1 is completely gone/dead.

Dear all,

thanks for trying to help. I booted the Mark V today wall-plug-powered an dWLAN1 was there again. Usually I use an USB-Powerbank with provides ~2A @ 5V (so 10VA). I think due to new firmware the MKV needs a little more while booting so WLAN1 was not recognized.

So for me it's working again - maybe try that as well.

The issue seems to be fixed for me now...

After reading the last post from MarcSThe1st, I decided to play around with my power supplies. My Pineapple was powered by a 9V @ 1.5A power supply. I'm not sure that's the supply it came with. I changed this to 12.6V @ 1A and lo and now wlan1 is back and working.

Just for the fun of it, changed back to the 9V power supply and wlan1 is still there...

As I read your answer I tried booting up via power bank (I'm in office).

Result: Very Instable. Booting for ages then finally gets WLAN1 working for short but starts rebooting immediately. I'll try later with the wall-plug.

What I realized is that the MKV really fast get warm (due to booting). I can also connect to web-Interface but this is as well VERY slow...
