I think everyone, when building a new pc should setup a raid 1 system.

Im thinking about doing it myself but im not sure on the performance drain when doing this.

Ive had to replace both my hdd's in the past because of bad sectors, i used norton ghost to copy my hdd's doing it manually.

Raid 1 would be a good thing when your busy and forget to backup your hdd if you need todo it weekly.

Can anyone give me some links on setup guides for raid 1 hardware.

My new pc rig will have a 10,000rpm raptor sata2 hdd (150gb) and a 320gb sata2 hdd, so would I have to get another 10k rpm 150gb hdd so they perform at the same speed?

Also im planning to setup raid 1 on my servers, would this also change the performance on it even if its a hardware raid setup.
