newbi3
The community I live in requires an RFID keyfob to use any of the resources that they provide (pool, club house, etc) they also require you to return it when you move out or pay $100 if you lost it. Mine seems to have been lost so I am just going to clone a neighbors instead of giving them $100 for a $5 keyfob. I just need an RFID reader/writer for under $30 preferably. I haven't been able to find any on amazon. Do any of your guys have any that you would recommend? Any ardino kits i could use to make one? cooper
Won't you have to return the keyfob when you GTFO? In other words, aren't you skimping now just to put off temporarily having to pay the $100 for they keyfob? I wonder why that thing would be priced so insanely much... xrad
I'm not sure if this is what you want.......but http://www.amazon.com/Aftermarket-Product-ACR122U-Contactless-Reader/dp/B00CBPIJG4/ref=pd_cp_pc_2
cooper
I see aliexpress has at least one item that's a reader/writer plus 10 fobs for $30 - you just need to provide some (bog-standard) batteries. There's cheaper deals aswell, so if this is your price range, go .cn In .eu the cheapest Incould find is 40 which is, like, $9000 at todays rates. Fortunately, they just use generic key fobs that you can buy for $4 on amazon. So I can give them the clone and no one would ever know unless they tried to read the data on it and compare it to what a name or whatever they use to tell where it belongs to. The reason why they charge $100 is because people used to just get extras and give it away to friends so that they could use the facilites when ever they wanted to without living in the neighborhood (Which I have no problem with) This is the fob that is used. At least it looks the same.. I'm not if there are different RFID standards or not. Edited June 19, 2014 by newbi3
Elk
http://www.proxclone.com/reader_cloner.html might this work too? And this, just because I like the idea and has a bit more info on the RFID protocol http://www.bishopfox.com/resources/tools/rfid-hacking/attack-tools/ Edited June 20, 2014 by Elk
newbi3
Interesting.. I might make my own then it seems pretty simple... Also I could possibly hide it somewhere by one of the scanners and collect lots of RFID tags from various people incase someone does catch on and stats to ban my fobs
