badbass Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 A client is selling a business and does not want to update end of life xp to what ever. I said get it done by the last week in march. The reason is a database that needs to be migrated. Everyone has failed at the migration. I looked all over the net. There is a key that needs to be rotated. The server is 5 years old. They need new hardware both sides disagree. I suggested a new product was shot down ;( linux based server.. The thing is the looser I mean user is responsible for these things. Am I doing anything wrong there is nothing on paper for the potential owner. I am going to bolt. Let them deal with day0 problems. Quote
digip Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 If its the owners business and you're not on staff after the business is sold, its the new owners issues. That said, you made note of it, informed them of any issues, its then in the hands of the old and new owner to review and decide on what to do. Quote
GuardMoony Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 We help a lot of small business out. And mostly money is the problem. If its only the hardware server you want to replace. You could do a P2V of the current server. And run esxi on a new hardware server. Btw what kind of database is he running? Quote
