ZeroSec Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) Hello all, I received my wifi pineapple mkV in the mail today, followed Darren's how to video of installing the firmware when something weird happened, typed in my password and everything and then rather than saying "continue" the page timed out. I ignored this and refreshed the page, then the "set new password" screen came up again. So I typed a different one in and this ssuccessfully finished, I hit continue, but its now saying when I login as "root" that my password is incorrect. I tried both passwords and neither work. Yes I'm sure I am typing them in right. How can I set the pineapple to reinstall the firmware and set a new password? Edited February 12, 2014 by ZeroSec Quote
haknakpdywak Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Switch factory reset: Switch 1 - UPSwitch 2 - DOWNSwitch 3 - DOWNSwitch 4 - UPSwitch 5 - UP http://wiki.wifipineapple.com/index.php/Factory_Reset Quote
ZeroSec Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 Awesome thank you I must have missed the factory reset option as I was about to try the "brick" resetting way. Trying this now Quote
ZeroSec Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) Alright I did that and got back to the set new password screen. I'm getting the same error I got last time: "The CGI process did not produce any response" And again refreshing the page takes me back to the set a new password screen. Oh and again (this time trying the same password the second time) I am presented with "Invalid username/password" Edited February 12, 2014 by ZeroSec Quote
Sebkinne Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Quick question, are you using any special characters? If so, can you try without and / or let me know which special chars you used? It's possible somewhere a char gets caught... Quote

It's possible somewhere a char gets caught... Was just about to post when I got an email saying you posted. Haha So I tried a new password with no special characters and iit works! You guys may want to fix that so I can have a real password on my pineapple. Haha I used the characters "(" "%" and "|" along with uppercase letters. Lowercase letters along with numbers seem to work fine. Quote
haknakpdywak Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 You can use these !@#$%^&* maybe. I've used two of them. Quote

ZeroSec Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 Haha okay, well I got it all sorted now so its all good. Just odd that some special characters wouldn't be supported Quote
