Bill Kristjanson
I am new to the mkv. I tried flashing v1.04 firmware and it failed -- constant blue flashing light -- waited over half an hour. I decided to try the unbricking procedure and attached to the ethernet port using 192.168.1.1 and I get a login dialogue box. That's as far as I get because I have no idea what user or password to use. I've tried user root and admin with passwords root, admin, my password for the 172... interface, toor, and pineapplesareyummy. Does anyone have an idea? Z4ub4d3
Hmm try follow the factory reset option. Involves putting two of the dip switches in an alternate position turning it on then restarting the pineapple like normal. Bill Kristjanson
Thanks for the suggestion but that didn't help. I powered my mkv off, put all switches to 10011,and powered back up. The blue light was flashing again so I waited 15 mins and powered down again. I'm back to 11110 the blue light flashing. It's been at least 10 mins. I still get the login dialogue when I try to login to 192.168.1.1. Should I be getting this prompt on this interface? Is there a default login on this interface? I know these are dumb questions but this mkv is still really new for me. I've tried both mint Linux and win 7 and get the same responses. Mr-Protocol
You should be accessing the pineapple with http://172.16.42.1:1741 not 192.168.1.1 which is probably your home local network. When you initially flash the firmware, it will have you create a password after you have read and accepted the EULA.
Sebkinne
If you are getting a login promt, it's not the pineapple. Mr-protocol misunderstood though, 172.... I'd for the Webinterface. 192.168.1.1 is the recovery Webinterface. Make sure you are only connected to the WiFi Pineapple and not to any other network. Best Regards, Sebkinne
Bill Kristjanson
Thanks all for the input. I have solved my problem. I was using Firefox and I forgot that it often gets confused when one's IP address changes. I restarted Firefox after setting my IP to 192.168.1.2 and I got the recovery page immediately. I don't know what router I was contacting at 192.168.1.1 when I got the login prompt because I don't use that address on any of my routers. Anyway, your info was informative. Bill Kristjanson
I figured it was something like that. The up-side of all this is I now know recovery is quite straight forward and easy.
