wirecutter Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) Settings for Mobile Broadband page Interface Name: ppp0 Protocol: 3g Service: umts Device: /dev/ttyUSB0 APN: epc.tmobile.com Username: internet Password: internet Default Route: 1 ppp redial: 1 Peer DNS: DNS: Keepalive: 1 pppd options: Login to the Pineapple via SSH cp /etc/usb_modeswitch.d/19d2\:1520 /etc/usb_modeswitch.d/19d2\:1523 Reboot and hit redial on the Mobile Broadband page.. I have been having issues with the device connecting after a reboot or a redial. but unplugging the modem and plugging it back in while the device is on. Usually works.. It will connect and you're good to go.. Edited November 1, 2013 by wirecutter Quote
Darren Kitchen Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Those ZTE modems from T-Mobile are great. Even better that in the states they don't require ID or a credit card. Interesting regarding the redial issue. I did a lot of 3G testing in dev and was surprised at how stable it is over the MK4. I had a modem up for days that rarely had to redial and when it did the network picked right back up almost immediately. Can you post your logs of the issue? I wonder if it's just that modem. I have the older 3G version that's my goto :-) Quote
wirecutter Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 Which log(s) would you like. After boot up, if the modem is plugged in.. It never comes up on its own.. Lots of little blue blinks.. If I pull the modem and plug it back it, it comes up and stays up.. Never had an issue with it going down after that one blip Quote
