You know you're a hacker when...

I was just talking about this with Cody (P Christian), the Linux OS is called Linux becasue the kernel it uses is actualy the Linux kernel (before the OS adopted the same name). However, windows is just called windows becasue they wanted to call it windows, there is absalutly no theme or reason behind it. I guess MAC OS has the same problem... but you can't theme an OS based on the word "Macintosh", but windows actualy exsist, and so you could give it a naming convention based on that.

Example posible naming theme:

Taskbar becomes Shelf

The Desktop becomes the window

Desktop shortcuts becomes bugs (bugs on a window, get it ;))

Wen you display a web page on the desktop (How many people actualy use this feature?) you arn't just displaying it on the desktop, you are taping it to the window ;)

Open windows becasue panels (couldn't think of any thing better)

At least thats a themed naming convention that follows the actual name of the OS. Couldn't think of a better name of windows explorer.

you know your an ub3r n00b when:

You send on chain letters as the message says doing so will get you free swag, or get some sick boy into the guiness book of records.

You tell people you're going to be millionaire based on an email you got from some African guy. (did I mention that some of my co-workers are sheep?)

You might be somewhat 1337 if:

You host your own IPTV show. ;)

when you move into your own house, the first thing on your agenda is to designate a room as 'server room'.

People come to you asking for advice, and follow it.

You can't remember the last time you bought a complete PC.

You spend more money on computer gear than you do on clothing.

You keep your machines (yes, you need multiple) on 24/7, and only turn the monitor off to ease up on the power bill.

You actively use multiple monitors.

If you have more friends on IRC then you do in real life.
I like that one. :)

You know you're a noob when you panic because your desktop icons refresh and you accuse the system admin of hacking into your computer.

You know you're a noob when you have a screen resolution of 1024x768 and have 15 columns and 9 rows of icons that are overlapping by 3 times each column and you think theres is nothing wrong with it.

You know you're a noob when you store important files in the recycle bin. When the admin comes around and empties the trash, you panic becasue the most important file of the year was "saved" in there.
