TPLINK mini router (3020?) as a VPN and/or IP Spoofer

Is there such a thing as a mini router like the tplink 3020 that you can use to secure your connection?

example:

ME (Laptop) ----> MINI ROUTER (vpn software?) -----> Access Point

And if there is such a thing can you spoof the ip of the vpn so its not the same as your Ip (which would kind of be pointless...)

If there is such a thing then please let me know (or it would be a great project)

i haven't bought one yet I wanted to know if one can be set up as a vpn so I can connect to it through my laptop wifi and then the router then forwards to the access point like a vpn, can that be done?

and If so i would hook it up to my laptop as well for power or my pineapple juice pack.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006DEBXD0/ will do OpenVPN.

See here too (Pre-installed VPN services out of the box) - http://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/29966-proxpn/?p=226577

I've been looking into TOR, would I be able to use the TL3020 with it?

Ideally I would like something that I could take around with me and I can plug into my laptop (via usb?) and connect to the router's wifi point through my laptop's wifi but just like the wifi pineapple have the router ICS to the Acess point It I want it connected to, I don't really want to have to plug it in via ethernet to the access point physically. Think of it as a MITM box that spoofs my Ip when it is plugged in.

With the Router:

ME (Laptop) -----USB/Wifi?-----> Router with TOR or alternative -----ICS to AP-----> AP (ANON. BROWSING)

Without the Router:

ME (Laptop) -----Wifi-----> AP (NOT ANON. BROWSING)

@digip I looked at the APO site and if they are offering routers with what is described above then I'll wait and see what they have to offer.

I know for certain that the TP Link mr3020 works with Openwrt. I have one and they are a great little router. I would suggest adding a usb and doing rootfs. http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-mr3020

As for tor and routing etc. I'm not an expert and have never done anything like this before (maybe I should) but I found this: http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/recipes/routedclient on the openwrt wiki. Take a look there and on there forums there is a ton of good info.

Cheers

yr on the right path, but no need for the 3020. Use a Pi. I had

ME -> wifi -> Tor Pi /w wifi adapter as AP and cat5 -> other wifi router -> internet

SO i had two aps to choose from, the anonymizing one and the other. was fairly easy to build using a tutorial called TRAP. but i cant find it. the best i found is this tut that never worked right for me but maybe for you

https://www.google.com/search?q=rry+pi+trap+tor+on+ion#q=raspberry+pi+tor+onion+wifi&start=10
