Sphyrna
Hello all, Last friday I received my Pineapple Mark IV and am now trying to get it to work. For some reason however the wifi network network of the pineapple keeps dropping: When I use a wifi analyzer I get a full connection one second and no connection the next. Sometimes the connection doesn't even come back online until I disabled/enabled the wifi interface through the web-interface. Usually the connection is there for about 20-30 second and than is gone for about 50-60.If I try to connect to it with a wifi client it won't connect or gets kicked off after a couple of seconds.iwconfig shows the following output (at the moment when my android phone next to the pineapple doesn't see any signal): lo no wireless extensions. eth1 no wireless extensions. wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn Mode:Master Tx-Power=18 dBm RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off Power Management:on eth0 no wireless extensions. br-lan no wireless extensions. I tried resetting to factory defaults, playing around with the settings (in /etc/config/wireless), two different PCs as power supply's, multiple client devices, etc. but no luck.I haven't been able to find any lead on the hak5 forums, wifipineapple.com and all mighty Google... I am starting to suspect it is a hardware issue, however I would like to ask if there are any other checks I can perform to verify what the problem might be?Additional info: Pineapple Hardware Version: Mark IV Pineapple Software Version: firmware version is 2.8.1 OS used to connect to the pineapple: Both Windows 8 and Mac OS X 10.8 Network layout of how your setup is connected (including IP information):Tried a couple of setups:Used USB cable a Win8 PC to the pineapple for power. Router with DHCP server connected on the wired interface (WAN/LAN). I can connect to the pineapple from a Win8 PC on the same network using 192.168.1.51 (web interface and SSH working). HTC one with wifi analyzer used to detect the network. "pineapple xx:xx" network found, but drops quickly. Sometimes I can connect but fails after a few seconds. Same result on a HTC Wildfire. Used USB cable from a Macbook to the pineapple for power. Mac laptop connected on the network port (WAN/LAN), directly into the USB network adapter of the Mac. Used IP address 172.16.42.1 to connect to the pineapple (SSH and web-interface working). HTC one shows the same results: wifi signal drops every couple of seconds. All the tools/options that are running on the pineapple when the issue happened: Tried a couple, but mostly Wireless and Cron Jobs are the only two enabled. (Tried disabling cron jobs, enabling Karma) Ping results from computer to pineapple: OK, connection works fine (over Ethernet) connection over wifi: no route to host. Error Messages: None. DrDinosaur
It may just be a hardware problem. The Hak shop can fix it for you.
