mrgray
So what is the best antenna you have for your setup? I've seen the Yagi antenna but i'm looking for something more compact but lots of DBI.
demonjester
I usually have 5DBI antenna and 4dbi antenna with me, I have tried attaching yagi antenna but the signal strength did not get any better. I have this 9DBI antenna but it is of course way too long to use.
thesugarat
You're going to have to define "more compact" for us... You looking for something that fits in your pocket? A suitcase? Tripod mountable? This thing is not tiny but it has had the best results for me... http://www.radiolabs.com/products/antennas/2.4gig/backfire.php I also use a Hawking amplifier: http://www.amazon.com/Hawking-HSB2-HiGain-Signal-Booster/dp/B0009MYSHU And boost the AWUS0036H I use by changing the country code and upping to 30db. That combo seems to be the best at pulling wifi from all over....
