demonjester
I attached a yagi antenna to my pineapple, and I did a scan, and the signal strength was same as if I had a 5dbi antenna attached to it. I did quick search and found this iwconfig (to find out what's what) ifconfig wlanX down iw reg set BO ifconfig wlanX up iwconfig wlanX txpower 27 is txpower 27 actually safe to use on pineapple without causing short circuit? or overheating? Also what is the normal txpower on pineapple anyways?
Mr-Protocol
Power cycle the pineapple and check tx power. Post results here.

barry99705
You should almost never have to change the radio power on a device! That and it's not going to help your receive sensitivity anyway. Antennas won't change the power settings. This is where the radio voodoo comes in. The guys with degrees in this stuff call it EIRP.
demonjester
I mean either the readings could be wrong since I get a bunch of ap but the power level is -80 to -90 Edited April 18, 2013 by demonjester
