markss
I decided to make Pineapple Mark IV by myself and this will be "from start to finish" project tread, ask for help topic. These are two setups I made:semi-mobile versionmobile versionAnd I have few questions:1) Will these setups 100% work?2) How do I connect and work with Alfa AP121U, with ethernet cable connected to PC? Do I need Power-Over-Ethernet?3) To which device connect the stronger antenna? Alfa AP121U or Alfa AWUS036NHA?4) Will this CABLE will work with Alfa Console Board? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cisco-Serial-Of-Console-Cable-Router-DB9-To-RJ45-/250960533357?pt=UK_Computing_Wired_Routers&hash=item3a6e69d76d Edited January 3, 2013 by markss
telot
1) Likely. Only red flag for me is the mobile versions usb devices. It depends how much amperage your usb hub is provided and thereby providing. Having two radios receiving/transmitting could cause intermittent issues if there is not enough power for the both of them. 2) Yes. Ethernet cable to PC. See Darren's wifi pineapple book for setting up the proper settings. You do not need POE. Power the AP1221U separately and connect your pc to the POE/LAN plug. 3) I'd do the pineapple myself. Remember when someone first broadcasts the ssid's of known networks they're looking for, its the strongest signal that wins. 4) No clue. I'd buy the one from the hakshop to be sure (and also support the team that made all this possible!). telot Edited January 3, 2013 by telot
NullNull
1) Both. http://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/27892-huawei-modems-with-mark-iv/?hl=huawei 2) Via the PoE port.Via ethernet cable (PoE port). You can power the pineapple throught PoE but i prefer throught the charging port (5-12V) 3) Pineapple has 18 dbi output and NHA 29 dbi. Put the stronger antenna to the pineapple. (my suggestion) 4)No. Read this... http://cloud.wifipineapple.com/wiki/doku.php?id=guidecleanflashserial

markss
I know that Alfa Console Board will 100% work, but will this work for flashing? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-To-RS232-TTL-PL2303HX-Auto-Converter-Module-Converter-Adapter-5V-3-3V-Output-/180836792643?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item2a1ab67943
NullNull
It looks ok to me but i never had to flash my pineapple. I see you are from Europe, you can searh one from there so you can have it sooner than from Hong Kong... As Mr-Protocol pointed make sure you read the wiki before you attempt a clean flash. Good Luck :) Edited January 4, 2013 by KiatoG

Good Luck :) Thanks for helping! :) Yea, now it's important to get the right hardware for flashing. Alfa have its console boards but it costs ~ 15EUR, but from China USB To RS232 TTL is ~ 2EUR. Who have flashed their Alfa AP121U, will China USB To RS232 TTL work for flashing?

markss
are u using 2 USB hubs in #1 option? the best choice is #1 but with 1 USB Powered hub! There is 9V barred plug dc (battery - Alfa AP121U) and 5V USB (battery - USB hub)
NullNull
How many mha can the 5v port of the battery can supply? Each device connected to the hub wil consume maximum 500mha (that's for all the USB devices) so if you want a NHA. a USB memory and a 3G modem you need 3x500=1500mha at the 5v port
