Sslstrip Issues

  • Pineapple Hardware Version (ex: Mark III, Mark IV, etc.): Mark IV
  • Pineapple Software Version (ex: 2.5.0, 2.6.4): 2.7.0
  • OS used to connect to the pineapple: BackTrack 5 R3(VM)
  • Network layout of how your setup is connected (including IP information): Pineapple connected to Backtrack 5 VM on Mac OSX
  • All the tools/options that are running on the pineapple when the issue happened:ssltrip,karma, cronjobs
  • Ping results from computer to pineapple:
  • PING ( 56(84) bytes of data.
  • 64 bytes from icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.917 ms

  • 64 bytes from icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.765 ms
    64 bytes from icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=1.00 ms
    64 bytes from icmp_seq=4 ttl=64 time=0.901 ms
  • Is the problem repeatable (Yes/No):
  • Steps taken which created the problem:

  • Anything else that was attempted to 'fix' the problem:

Ok so I must be doing something wrong because I have to experience the power of the pineapple. Karma works well and responds to the client. However that's about it. So the client is connected, sslstrip is up and running, the site throws the ssl warning, you enter the creds but the size of the logs is zero.

I have also tried other modules e.g. random roll and nada...All tools successfully installed to usb.

So what am I missing with this thing?

First I would make sure that sslstrip is actually running, and then I would visit several sites, both https and http, and try to login. If there still is empty logs, then I guess there is something wrong.

Secondly, for the Randomroll, if everything is installed and dnsspoof is running, you probably have to clear the DNS cache. If you are using Windows you can do this by issuing "ipconfig /flushdns" in a commandprompt. Next website you visit, you should get one of the rolls.
