JoshuaH
Does anyone know what I should change the binary value in the registry of a service if I don't want it to restart, but insted take no action if it fails. For some reason on this one computer I can't just do it through services.msc
ChevronX
I think there is something in XP that allows you to run Windows as a seperate process so if 1 fails it doesnt crash the others. I dont know how thou
PoyBoy
sudo update-rc.d -f <service here> remove Hell, i dunno. Get linux? Sorry for the useless post

pseudobreed
Sorry I can not post the registry values you need for various actions, my laptop battery is about to die. However, in the root tree of the service, delete the value "FailureActions" and that will set all the actions to "Take No Action". Hopefully that will fix your problem. Ill try and post the hex values for different failure actions tomorrow if the above does not help.
Sparda
You could just edit the properties of the service using the GUI. That would be much easier.
