Dns Spoofing Pictures

Does anyone know how to DNS spoof to change image files on a network? Ive heard about this hack and I am curious.

From what I understand the image file types of the requested web page must be redirected to the spoofed server.

Ettercap can mitm connections and has capabilities to change files, such as reload any image inplace of another one. I've not used it, but have heard people talk about using it for image injection or even upside downternet, where they flip all the images on the page upside down, redirect to any site you want when say they type in google.com you can make it be yahoo.com instead. You can also do it with iptables I believe, but you either need to MITM their connection first, or be the server they run through for DNS in general and change all the requests to point where you want.
