Mr-Protocol
It will not work in VM. If you check your dmesg you will have the same errors on the Oracle Ticket. See: http://forums.hak5.o...ith-awus036nha/

You should not use Ubuntu if you are going to do wireless hacking, rather do a HDD install of BackTrack. The networking services in Ubuntu kills your monitor interface, so you won't capture any packets, Edited September 10, 2012 by stepking2
Mr-Protocol
You should not use Ubuntu if you are going to do wireless hacking, rather do a HDD install of BackTrack. The networking services in Ubuntu kills your monitor interface, so you won't capture any packets, Backtrack is not really meant for an every-day OS. Packages are purposely kept out of date for compatibility of a known working setup. You can also easily disable network managers to avoid it taking over your interfaces. Infiltrator
I have an Alfa awus036h with a 9dbi antenna and the signals are all hovering around -38 to -68. You might want to consider upgrading that antenna of yours.
