Great that you release the package outside the Pineapple as long as you are working out a fix.

Just downloaded that package and MSE warned me about these files. Although it's telling me that it's "for fun" :P

OK new issue that effects my brand new (nexus 7) and possibly newer android devices.

What happens is the html5 <audio> tag does not auto play the MP3 in all the rolls:-(

I have tried so many things even using Javascript to no avail. To make it worse flash is not included and not suppose to be used on mobile devises anymore according to adobe. How can we convert flash to html5? And the audio tag that does not work.

Android 4.1 up

I would like to ask permission to Monetize my video that includes your rickroll module. I have displayed in youtube the files of rainbow chicken man, rickroll, and others only to display that it works. I would like to know the permissions of these files themselves and where you got them from. I just want to be in the right. Thank you. youtube link:

Hey tylerCPU thats fine I would love for people to get a preview and see just how fun the mk4 can be. great work. the creators of the rolls themselfs are now listed in the 2.* versions that are available only on firmware 2.6.4UP

once the next firmware is released I hope that the latest version will work. Ive had to strip it down because of space issues when un-tar'ing inside the pineapple itself.

Haha, I bet you'll find some inspiration if you do a little gay porn surfin' :P

Anyways, I didn't quite get why Gaga is in the ghay roll? Is she really a he, or what??

I think that the pics are kinda SFW as is, and I guess users could easily "upgrade" the pics for something more hardcore if they like. But the sound is perhaps a little more cumbersome to replace? And to be honest I'm not impressed with that sound either.. How about ripping sound from a real gay porn movie, or would that be too much? :P

I have updated to RandomRoll-2.6 but I had a hell of a time doing it, I am using firmware 2.7.0 and a Huawei Modem with a micro sd mounted as /usb.

I clicked update in the list of available infusions, it removed random roll 2.5 and gave me the option to install 2.6 to usb.

It took 22 minutes to download the tar.gz to /usb/tmp/modules and after 50 minutes it had only gotten as far as installing the first roll the afro roll.

I stopped it and took out the tar.gz and extracted it to my desktop and copied them back one by one to /usb/modules/RandomRoll and then had to add it to /pineapple/modules/moduleList for it to show in installed infusions.

Im not complaining its a great module im just reporting in case anyone else might have trouble installing it, it could be just that im using a huawei modem as /usb I havent tried with a flash drive.

Interesting.

How are you sharing internet to the pineapple? If via 3g, it IS possible that the download is taking forever (almost 8mb).

Then, the file is downloaded onto your USB drive (in this case the modem?) and unpacked there.

So I can see two bottlenecks:

1. Internet speed.

2. write speed to the device. This could explain why the rolls take so long to install..

Seb great work as always:-D

I found that I had version 2.0 of RandomRoll and went to update to 2.6, it went quick and did not work. then I tried to install and it reported an md5 error.

but after rebooting It installed in about 20 seconds:-)

so if anyone is reading probably remove then reboot then install.

MD5 errors now mean the real thing ;) The download was corrupted somehow.

Either way, I am glad this firmware upgrade is working well for you all!

I gave it a go again, I removed it and rebooted and clicked install, its now been 15 min's and its still downloading to /usb/tmp/modules, I am using ics with Ubuntu 12.04 so it must be down to using my Huawei modem as usb

Seems like it, yeah. Maybe test the write speed you get to it?

It is possible that the pineapple doesn't LOVE using the same USB device for serial + data..

Best Regards,

Got another fun one for you: SERIES OF TUBES!

By the way, I'm thinking of doing a big overhaul of this module to make it easier for users to create their own rolls. Essentially they'd just upload their roll via SCP, and the code would automatically recognise it. Also thinking of adding an upload feature.

I would love this but for me it's more complicated than just uploading files. there is some work that needs to be done with the rolls to make it what it is

I just noticed you did all the work to set up the roll correctly:-) I added it and re uploaded the module, I hope you don't mind I linked to your hak5 profile and used your name of course.
