Is There A Way To Install Tshark On The Wi-Fi Pineapple?

Recommended Posts

In my last post I asked about using the Wi-Fi Pineapple as a passive monitor mode device. airodump-ng was suggested and I've managed to get some packet capture working with it, to a USB drive. However, there are a few things airodump-ng won't do that tshark will, and so I would like to install tshark onto my Wi-Fi Pineapple if possible. I have tried executing

opkg install --dest usb tshark

but get

Unknown package 'tshark'.

Collected errors:

* opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package tshark.

I am guessing this means tshark is not one of the standard packages available in the opkg repository. Is there any other way I can get tshark installed on my Wi-Fi Pineapple?

Cheers, Bryce.

The advantage of tshark is that you can selectively filter out certain patterns and it has a feature that allows it to overwrite files after a certain number of megabyte have been collected, therefore you never fill up your recording device. It would be great to somehow get a port of it to the pineapple.
