Linux Ubuntu and DSL-200 USB Modems

I'm new to linux (Been a Windows girl since I was a wee las)

and I want to get my D-Link DSL-200 Rev b USB Moden to work on linux.

:oops:

I just need it in laymen terms, I guess.

I understand the basics of linux and the command line, just need it explained :p

Any help is very much apperciated :)

http://users.tpg.com.au/johnd/dsl200.html <-- tutoriial for fedora, but it should kinda work.

http://eciadsl.flashtux.org/download.php?lang=en (you'll want the debian stuff as ubuntu is based on debian)

Installation instructions :

- unpack eciadsl-synch_bin.tar.bz2 package in /etc/eciadsl

- run eciadsl-config-tk or eciadsl-config-text and follow instructions.

Important: you must shut down your modem between 2 attempts.

Not sure how/if this works, but a quick google shows that it is possible with these drivers. But in the long run i'd aim to get a router with ethernet as its a world less pissing around.
