Scrolling Led Display

Hi People.

New here so hope i'm in the right place.

I have been given a long LED scrolling display.

It has 25 x panels each one 5x7 LEDs.

There is a power supply and a lead with a serial connector on one end a a small telephone looking plug on the other, this connects to the LED unit.

There is no setup disc or remote. (theres an IR looking panel at one end).

I can't identify the manufacture as no marks visible, appart from a sticky label with

PO NO:195247

QFC: 135301

And a barcode? which just say LED scrolling display, and nothing else.

Any ideas how I can identify this product.

I have been trying variouss software from the net, but nothing recognises it when attached to my comp.

I have seen similar looking items on the net, but nothing has worked so far?

Does any one have any suggestions?

There is a demo display that runs, so I know the unit is working.

Hi Everyone, :)

I see there have been a few lookers, and I'm guessing this isnt as straight forward as I thought.

So maybe I could ask a few questions?

1) Is the remote control an important part of opening up the port to program the unit, in a lot of cases?

2) Would it help if I posted a picture?

3) Is there a sort of universal remote type, that might help?
