I know I'm repeating a lot of what has been posted already,

But having followed Darrens guide and setup my usb and swap space correctly I still cannot get the option to install sslstrip to usb.

It is most probably something to do with my fstab but I can't see what. Any help is really appreciated :)

You need to hit reboot afterwards, otherwise it won't work.

You need to reboot the pineapple in order for it to work... Hit the reboot button from that page where you typed in the commands.

*do it after you type in the command mkswap /dev/sda2

also remember to uncheck the box "take ownership of filesystem" when you're partitioning your usb.

Thanks for the help I got it working. Basically I had multiple sda,sdb,sdc,sda1 and so on making life difficult for me when editing the fstab to reference my swap space. But (total noob moment) when i went into the resources tab it told me exactly what ones the pineapple device was seeing eg sda1, sdb1. Now its all working perfectly.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Hey guys, I just did a virgin install of pineapple 2.7.0 and after setting up my usb drive I installed the sslstrip module via the web interface to my usb device. The sslstrip module appears to be running fine and I've got it enabled yet whenever I try to access https pages via my pineapple wireless network the sites timeout. If I access http sites things work just fine. I've tried to access https sites from an android tablet via chrome and on a windows machine via IE, Firefox and Chrome. All have the same result of https pages not loading yet http sites load just fine. Any recommendations on what I should check to see whats going on? Thanks.

Hi when using auto start on Pineapple IV and in firmware 2.7 the auto-start script does not start the sslstrip when the pineapple turns on and also stops the pineapple giving internet access to dives connecting to it due to auto-start failure. just thought i would let you know but other than that the thing works a charm, be better if it had auto parse like in YAMAS.

Also while am here does anybody have any good filter commands?

Hey there,

it's my first post on this board, so I hope it isn't a dumb question ;-)

Is there a way to tell sslstrip to save the logs in another place (USB)?
The gui-module stops after some minutes every time I used it, and when starting sslstrip via ssh I saw it stopped because of lacking memory on root.

Thanks for any hint,

Sonya

Are you using a swap partition? if not use this guide : http://forums.hak5.o...tition/?hl=swap

to configure your usb. Then you can use a symlink to save the logs to your usb. :)

Erm... sorry for doubleposting, but it seems like I just don't get it to work.

sslstrip saves the logfiles in

/pineapple/infusions/sslstrip/log

I don't want the files to take up space on the pineapple and want sslstrip to save them to

/usb/logs/

What's the correct way / exact command to get it working in this case? I tried to symlink like

ln -s /usb/logs/ /pineapple/infusions/sslstrip/log/

and the other way around, as well as with different paths, but I guess I got the way symlinks work wrong.

Looking forward to your tips,

Sonya

Thanks for replying so fast. I think I got it on the last try:

I removed (rmdir) the pineapple/infusions/sslstrip/log directory (not the whole path, just the "log" dir.) and used this symlink:

ln -s /usb/log/ /pineapple/infusions/sslstrip/

Now sslstrip saves to /usb/log/, so no more big logfiles filling up the pineapple's internal space.

Best wishes,

Sonya

Hello Pineapplers!

I just bought and received this lovely, sexy Mk IV piece of equiment... annnd, mostly due to my newbness, and the way this thing seems to be constantly updated quicker than its documentation, I need some help.

The day I got it, it was running Firmware version 2.7.0. Now I got it updated to 2.8.0. In either case, I couldn't get ssl strip to work from the "Available Infusions" list. It asked where to install, local or usb, and i chose local since i didn't have a USB formatted and set up for this thing yet.

How do I get sslstrip to work? It keeps saying it's not installed, and asks for me to click where to install it. No error codes, just doesn't work.

Do i need USB storage?

Thanks!,

- me

Update:

I have a 2gig microSD card connected via USB and formatted according to:
http://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/25882-how-to-enable-usb-mass-storage-with-swap-partition/?hl=swap

From then I tried:
opkg install --dest usb sslstrip

This took a while as it was installing a few dependencies including python 2.7.

After a reboot and double-check of /etc/opkg.conf, df, and the "USB" section of the web interface on my pineapple, I tried running sslstrip.

It gave me this error:

root@Pineapple:~# sslstrip
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usb/usr/bin/sslstrip", line 27, in <module>
    from twisted.web import http
  File "/usb/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/twisted/__init__.py", line 22, in <module>
    raise ImportError("you need zope.interface installed "
ImportError: you need zope.interface installed (http://zope.org/Products/ZopeInterface/)

from there I noticed in http://cloud.wifipineapple.com/packages/2.8.0/ that zope-interface was listed. So I did a "opkg install zope-interface" and got:

"Package zope-interface (2.5.0-1) installed in usb is up to date."

It seems nothing is working here for me, and i'm sure i'm just newbing this all to hell and am missing some sort of common-sense to take care of this problem.

Can anyone help me get sslstrip installed???

Thanks,

- RC0618

WooHoo!

Nevermind! I may have found the answer. It seems there just isn't enough space for sslstrip on the native device, so a properly formatted USB drive must be used to install it from the infusions list. So here were my steps to get it to work, ignoring everything else:

step 1) format a usb flash drive according to:
http://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/25882-how-to-enable-usb-mass-storage-with-swap-partition/?hl=swap

(step 1.5?) I can't rule out that this is needed without someone else trying without this step. From an SSH connection to the pineapple:

opkg install --dest usb sslstrip
(to install the necessary required packages)
opkg remove sslstrip
(because it didn't work this way)

step 2) reboot and install (TO USB) sslstrip from the online infusions tab on the pineapple's web management.
