Any Plans For Firmwares On Other Devices?

Are there any plans to develop a firmware for other devices such as the TP-LINK WR703N? There are now working hostapd for it.

It would be nice to see other devices supported as well.

The MR11U eliminates having to have a external battery yet still has an option to be powered by USB. Also IIRC, the MR11U is basically the same thing as the wr703n, as on the openwrt forum the first person who tried it simply changed the header of the wr703n firmware for the mr11u to accept it.

In a sense you just answered your question, "There are now working hostapd for it"

you just have to figure how to start it on those devises.

as far as porting to other devices I don't see a reason unless it has better hardware or cheaper. you have to remember lots of other hardware like the TP-link's only have 4Meg flash, needs to be at least 8 and 32Meg ram.

It is a lot of work to get other hardware working with what is being developed today. I would rather have that time put into getting all the features in and working perfect.

It is theoretically possible to compile a firmware for most devices capable of running openwrt.

Having "karma working" isn't what would be determining here, as Karma is built into my firmware images.

Peter has said what I would have said.

It is also more difficult to develop for a device one does not actually own.

Best,

Yeah I got excited about the WR703N because of the price, one can have one for around $20 dollars. I was tinkering with it a bit and yes the 4MB is very irritating. I guess I can find other uses for it but it would have been very cool the be able to have something of the quality of the pineapple for a mere $20. Well anyway thanks, I'll stick with the MK3 and MK4 for now.
