Help With 3g Dongle Please

I have the Mark IV firmware flashed to 1.0.2 The only changes I have intentionally made in the device is setting up the swapspace per Darren's tutorial. The 3G dongle is the Novatel from Ting recommend by Darren. I didn't see any other topics pertaining to problems with the 3G so I guess it is just my bad luck it isn't working. From what gather is should be plug and play. I have a 4 gig microSD in the dongle and that is handling the swap space and storage. I don't know if the swap space is working but I am able to create files on the storage parition. I haven't tried to install any packages yet.

Looking at the log file it does find the modem but it doesn't work. I have tried to use the force connection on the 3G tab, that hasn't worked either. I am seeing some errors in the log file. One pertaining to ssh exited prematurely with status 1; autossh exiting. What is the ssh connection for?

Below I will post my log file from power on until now. If this is too much for one post I apologize in advance.

Is the pineapple battery powered or on the mains? One thing I've noticed with the Novatel MC760 is that it will sometimes drop due to power requirements. Try tossing a powered USB hub in line and give it another go -- let's rule out power first. If that's the case we might have just the thing for you - an inline usb power injector.

Second, the current 3G script doesn't account for the Micro SD card on board. Let's worry about getting you dialed up first, then we can adjust the script so it doesn't kill /dev/sg0 (or was that sg1?). I'm not near a pineapple to test but will soon.

Orginally I was running the pineapple power through the usb of my laptop. I though maybe it might be a power issue so I have been trying with the pineapple plugged into the wall. I also thought it might be the microSD causing the problem so I removed that as well. I will pick up a powered hub this evening and try again.

What about the ssh errors? Is that anything to worry about?

I don't see it in this log but I have seen in the previous log a problem with sdb recommending I run efsck.

Thanks for the reply.

Ok now as before the Pineapple is plugged into the wall.

The microSd slot is empty.

The dongle is plugged into a powered hub.
