Sammael Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Ok, happy with my switchblade software, but my caseing was crap, so I had a go at modding it. Original: Should have really taken some photos during the process but hey. Was pretty easy, prised open the original took out the inner workings, and put them in the new case after soldering on a new LED (red 'cus I didnt like the original green). The "painting" is actually a permenant marker that I just scribbled with, then I used a black "gel" pen and went round the recesses to add a shadow effect. And here is all the bits opened up. The eagle eyed among you may have noticed that the case is an old playstation memory card that stopped working. Quote
cooper Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Heh, cool! Anything to get rid of the Dell logo. I should totally do something similar. Work gave me a 128 meg stick for my birthday a year or 2. It's the GAYEST memory stick you've ever seen. HOT PINK casing. The company had the word 'Pink' in the name, which is why they thought (mistakenly) that this would be a good idea... Quote

Mel Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 That looks cool mate ;) I wouldn't mind doing a Switchblade for myself. I have quite a few spare flashdrives lying around and they are cheap as here anyway. Hmm what sort of case should I go for though?.. Ohh you should get a little USB lid or something just to protect the USB end. I know some people get those broken frmo time to time because of no protective lid and such. Just something I would do anyway. Quote
Guest Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 You should of removed the LED completly, that way there is no lil light flashing while the thing is doing what it does  Quote
