Mother
So I am trying to my first attempt at rick rolling but not having much luck. What I have done... I gave downloaded the package from http://www.wifipineapple.com/doku.php?id=rickrolling and followed the instructions. I move the 3 files into the www directory on the pineapple. When I connect a device to the pineapple and go to a web page I get either a blank screen or a message saying "No such file or directory" Any assistance? Thanks
blu3nowh3r3
did you edit the redirect to index.html in the advanced area?
Whistle Master
Regarding your "No such file or directory" problem, it comes from the wiki. I think the problem is that the quotes in your landing page configuration are not the correct ones (” vs ") Try to replace your landing page configuration with the following (with correct ones): <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;url=index.html"> </head> <body> </body> </html>

barry99705
Hahahahahahahaha!!! That's awesome! Though if the link goes any deeper than the .com or whatever it won't work. If I browse to www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/ it fails with "No such file or directory" Edited March 3, 2012 by barry99705

If I browse to www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/ it fails with "No such file or directory" Dont quote me on this but in the DNS filtering file try add */* meaning any subdomain of any site. I didnt actually try it but it makes enough to sense to work

I ran across that because I use "https everywhere" in Firefox.

CorySTG
Don't mean to hijack your thread, but was hoping someone might be able to help. I tried to do this on my MK4 v1.0.1 and going through the steps HERE. I thought I did everything in order without errors, but I'm not sure where I went wrong. While doing that instead of using 192.168.1.1, I used 172.16.42.1 since that's the default gateway for the pineapple. anyway after it rebooted it will not broadcast wifi, ipconfig reveals that it's default gateway is now 192.168.1.1, going to this ip results in a timeout err. I am able to WinSCP and PuTTY without any problems via Ethernet cord. My question is what do I need to do now? I am a noob so please feel free to talk as dumbed-down as possible. Could the solution be as simple as pressing the WPS button or Reset on the back?

For MK4, try the instructions available on the wiki. Edited March 6, 2012 by Whistle Master

It will restore and reboot. Do not replace any config files. Best, Sebkinne

I'm very new to all this, I didn't quite follow what the wiki was saying so I tried to follow the other tutorial referenced in the wiki since it looked very noob-friendly. Thanks for the quick replies, Cory
CorySTG
Alright, I followed the wiki and managed to get it working. One problem; when using google chrome I hear the music playing, but have a blue screen without text. If I use IE it works flawlessly and i get the picture(ASCII text) and audio. I see that Barry has it working on chrome in the pictures above though.
