It's kinda cool Backtrack: http://www.remote-exploit.org A pen testing liveCD based on Slax (http://www.slax.org/) Slax and backtrack are really cool cos they are REALLY easy to add and remove modules from Geexbox: http://geexbox.org Turn a computer into a media centre, kinda cool

PoyBoy
I ammas a collection of LiveCD's. This way, I can lend them out and usually have tow that arent quite the same, but have some of the same tools. If i find one I really like, I burn two
Rhythmtech
I am partial to Slax and DSL (Damn Small Linux) Slax has full KDE and is pretty and feature rich DSL is much more streamlined and works wonderfully on older machines. Both have worked wonderfully for me for virus scanning, file transfers over networks, I even salvaged a lost partition using gpart.
stitch
Why not just install a full distro and add the software you like from the various live cd's?

Lesstj
I am big fan of Ubuntu just because its so easy to use. Perfect for a laptop. Hence I installed on my lappy. But Backtrack is what I would go with for a desktop application.

Spartain X
my favourite are knoppix, mainly due to it's power and it's a great tool of recovery's and the range of tools. backtrack 1 and 2 and auditor are great for pen tests and general security evaluations
