TheKingUnderTheHill Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Right, got a pineapple and its all well and good, now all i need is a sniffer! Tried Cain and Wireshark, and they work great, but im wondering if there are any others with different features that i could try out, not looking for anything in particular, just anything that does something Cain and Wireshark cant. Cheers. Quote
Infiltrator Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 There are a lot of sniffers out there for different purposes. But you will need to be specific on what you are trying to achieve. With wireshark will be able to sniff almost anything, as long as the traffic is not encrypted. Quote
antonymous Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Not sure exactly what you're looking for, but if you're looking for other ways to analyze your packet capture files, maybe try something like NetworkMiner? At the very least it will give you a different perspective on how to find what you're looking for. Quote

Good point, Networkminer not only work as a passive sniffer but it has the capability to reconstruct the sniffed data. For instance, if someone is uploading a file to a server you will be able to retrieve a copy of that file too, as long as the traffic is not encrypted. Quote
