sentinel
Does anyone have any reccomendations for a really good FLOSS groupware system I can run off a linux server for a small non-profit organization. The key here is functional and free. Most of all, I need a shared calendar, but it would be nice to have shared contacts and project management. Outlook integration is what they really want, but I don't see that as being possible for free. I've tried or looked at a few: http://www.opengroupware.org http://www.zimbra.com/products http://www.phpgroupware.org http://www.phprojekt.com http://www.egroupware.org http://www.horde.org/groupware ...and others... but I'm really curious if anyone else has tried or is using one, and if they have any reccomendations. After personally using google calendar for so long, I have trouble seeing the usability in anything else. A php/html form just seems so clunky and inneficient for creating a calendar event. If I can't find anything, I may end up with them on a shared google calendar, but I'd rather have something more tightly integrated that I can customize, and run and manage locally on their LAN. Help plz?
kickarse
I heard opengroupware was good and there was another that was supposedly an openexchange http://www.open-xchange.com/EN/ that was to be good too...
sentinel
I heard opengroupware was good and there was another that was supposedly an openexchange http://www.open-xchange.com/EN/ that was to be good too... I tried the OG.o live cd and I didn't love it. (I guess it didn't help that it was in german)I've also looked at OpenXchange, but it seems to be a bit of a misnomer - the free version is basically useless, they take all the functionality out. http://www.open-xchange.com/EN/product/os_vs_com.html (that doesn't seem very 'open' to me, I don't think they should be allowed to use that name.) Thanks for the reply! :)
kickarse
Wow that kinda sucks they cripple it like that. I'd definitely try out the openware, in english though.
