Jamo
Hi, Im trying to create a ducky script emulator, which Ill be releasing some day, and Im wondering what do I need to do, to make sure no-one cant take credit for my work, but anyone can continue developing it. Iv thought OpenSource, since I have no financial hopes for it. Where and how should I release it, Git, svn? Any toughs what I should do, to before releasing code, i.e. anyone couldn't sue me due my program formatting their hdd etc.
int0x80
Github and Google Code are two popular venues for hosting FOSS projects. As for licensing, there are a variety of FOSS licenses that include attribution, take your pick :]
Jason Cooper
Don't forget good old sourceforge for hosting as well.
Sitwon
Don't forget good old sourceforge for hosting as well. Sourceforge might provide some good tools for the development team, but please host your release downloads somewhere else. Sourceforge is a pain for third-party package maintainers. T3hGamerDK
It sounds like the license you want is the BSD 3-clause license: http://www.opensource.org/licenses/BSD-3-Clause
