Relativity Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 I've asked a type of question like this before so anyways. I have fallen in love with 64 bit ubuntu but I love source as well ..... Anyways Is it possible to play source on 64 bit ubuntu and how ?Anyone actually do this ? Quote
VaKo Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Cedega from www.transgaming.com should be something to look at, its a fork from the WINE project aimied at cross platform gaming. I don't use it personally but whenever the windows games on *nix topic comes up, this is what is suggested. There is also crossover office but its not free, and i don't think its geared towards games. Quote
Relativity Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 Thanks vako I think I will switch to 32 bit ubuntu and then try cedega and wine and what not . Thanks! Quote
uber_tom Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Even though cedega and wine are 32bit apps, they will run on a 64 bit distro. Source runs with cedega, but it don't run that well or pretty. you're best off duel-booting if you want to play newish games, unless they're id games of course. Quote
