Employee
I was wondering for a Counter-Strike 1.6 server what linux distro would you suggjest I would install on a computer? I would like it to be a small as possible and not take up much memory or cpu power :ninja: (for optimum (cant spell) preformance)
Sparda
FreeBSD with Linux binary support is prety small.
VaKo
They've just changed the linux support from linux_base-8 to linux_base-fc4, i think you can even choose which type of linux support to add, like gentoo or debian.
metatron
If you want to keep it really light and quick, I would go with NetBSD or Debian.
Garda
I like debian, so i'm gonna recommend it.
blizz
Light and quick? "Linux" is always quick. You have to fuck up alot of things until "it" gets slow. :-P But I agree, some other binary distributions are just bloated. Anyway, for running a server i also recommend crux. Maybe take a look at the handbook to see if you would like it.
