Sparda
All you need to do to avoid static electricity is touch the bar metal on another computer that is plugged in. Static wrist bands are a waste of moneyy and are stupidly over priced (most of the time).

rFayjW98ciLoNQLDZmFRKD
My advice:WAIT!!!!! see what AMD brings to the field with its upcoming AM2 architecture. If it sucks, get a conroe Agreed, If you cant I sugest getting an AM2 socket mobo abd CPU. You will beable to upgrade your CPU later on. armadaender
upgrade to a larger hard drive! Trust me, I get a 160 giger, and I said to myself "this is enough," and I had it filled in weeks. I'd buy a 200gb for the box and build a rogue server with any old parts lying around and build it up to about .5 to .75 Tb.

Chalito
i'm more of a AMD Nvida man, but i'm not going to give you advince on hardeware. What i will tell you is that what ever you do when you are bulding a pc is don't get fustrated, if you get fustrated you fail lol, that what happened to me and i broke a very expensive video card. And have fun builing, your fist time building a pc will always be your favorite. Also,be gental with the Motherboard. You hit that wrong or scratch it, tht can cause all sorts of headachs. Well, have fun budy.
Rab
well it's all built and working fine. had a little overheating problem, just turned the fans up to medium. all is good, thanks for your help. if anything i think the machine is too high spec for what i do with it, but oh well :)
stingwray
Anything more than 320GB HDD become un-economical unless you are limited for space, like 1U racks or SFF. 320GB HDD costs about £62.50 now, were a 500GB costs about £130. Its easy to see that the 2x 320GB HDDs would be better value. Also has added benefits of if left un-raided then if one drive dies you'll only loose half of your data. I'm sure that if we had 2 phd's and as much experience as Metatron, we would have a ton of money as well. I can only imagine how hard he worked to be where he is right now. Needless to say I was increadibly pissed. They didn't want to keep meeting with only have 2 or 3 people showing up each time.
