brianzimm
Well I spent most of today building a VM of Ubuntu 10.04 x86 server with 4GB ram and 8cpu to compile VLC for Android. I made a custom bash script to compile VLC and then move it to my Public Dropbox folder for all to enjoy. And it is in a cron job that will run every week on Friday at 1PM ESDT, as long as something does not break :-( . Here is the link. I have also added this to my sig. http://vlc-builder.neo-ns.net/vlc-android/ Note: right now you have to uninstall the old version of VLC before installing a new version. Enjoy :) Edited September 18, 2011 by brianzimm
Hyperant
Really you spent all day setting up something to compile vlc for android even though you can download it from the android market? https://market.android.com/details?id=com.vlcdirect.vlcdirect&hl=en Edited September 19, 2011 by Hyperant
brianzimm
Not the same thing. The one in the market place is some company making a remote control for the VLC player. The one I compiled is from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-android.html and is the VLC port for Android. http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc/vlc-android.git;a=summary Edited September 19, 2011 by brianzimm
