Logon Screen Notifications

Does anyone know how to add notifications to the windows 7 log on screen. Like facebook, e-mail, twitter, etc. Something like the iphone lockscreen has through jailbreak.

This would require modification of Windows handling of the lock screen. The easiest way to achieve this may be to update the background image, then get windows to reload it.

What you need to do, go to RUN and then type registry. Once the registry editor is up, locate the following registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon 

And change the following registry values:

LegalNoticeCaption
LegalNoticeText

A word of caution, make sure you back up your registry first before attempting any of this. Its very important, because anything you do wrong can have serious effect.

The problem I have have is fetching updates from the various services like twitter, etc. I have no idea how to even approach this. Maybe windows 8 will include something like this.

I dont think hat you could have a upgrading notification on windows's logon screen.

Unless you can start a app at that time, its possible tough.

You will definitely need to write an application to do that. As Windows is concerned I don't think you can do what you want.

Have you tried doing a search in Google to see if you can find any app that can do it for you?
