Infiltrator Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Microsoft has a tool called Printer Migrator and you can download it directory from this link http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=25311 Quote
The Sorrow Posted July 16, 2011 Author Posted July 16, 2011 nice tool... will it work on 2008 R2 though? Quote
Infiltrator Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 (edited) nice tool... will it work on 2008 R2 though? I haven't tried, but it should work. This utility basically copies all the drivers, all the printer shares to a single archive file. All you have to do then is run it on the PC you are migrating the printers to. Iain Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 That's a nice tip to have in my "back pocket" in case I need to do the same. Please feed back your results, whether good or bad! Quote
The Sorrow Posted August 3, 2011 Author Posted August 3, 2011 well it backed everything up into a bin just fine. cant seem to restore the settings on another server for some reason though Quote
digip Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I think you will need to add the x64 drivers as well, but don't quote me on that. Check out - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc722360.aspx Quote
The Sorrow Posted August 3, 2011 Author Posted August 3, 2011 For the most part we have the 64 bit drivers for each type of printer. we have been doing x64 windows 7 deployments slowly and already added the drivers. Quote
