Vmplayer Error

.net 2.0 should have already been installed with windows 7 (or superseded by 3.5). Shouldn't have to mess with installing any .net stuff. Verify that your VMware player download is not corrupt and try installing it again. Don't download it from any place other than:

http://downloads.vmware.com/d/info/desktop_downloads/vmware_player/3_0

Make sure any 3rd party firewall and anti-virus are off before trying the install. Also, check the event viewer in windows and see what is happening. Might show some errors and shed some light on the problem.
