Wirelesss Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Hello everyone! I'm running Windows 7 (64 bit) and I have a linksys wusb54gc adapter. I'd like to play around with Cain and Abel but when I'm trying to select my Wireless USB it doesn't show up. It also shows the warning: Only ethernet adapters supported. I was wondering if there's any way to bypass this so I can use my wireless usb. Greetings, Wireless Quote
digip Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Wireless devices are Ethernet as well. If you have to reinstall winpcap by itself, then reboot and try again. If that doesnt work, look to see if it lists a microsoft or generic adapter under devices from the settings menu and try capturing with it instead. Quote
Infiltrator Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Reinstall Winpac and the Wireless Adapter driver if you can too. Quote
freeKIgeek Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 A little research on that model linksys device and 64 bit os (vista or Win7) shows it has some trouble when run on 64 bit os. I would doublecheck if you have most appropriate driver for your Win7 64 bit os. Alot of people seemed to report a device that would work halfway (ie can interact with router, get ip info etc) but was unable to consistently connect or was very resource intensive. Just a thought... I have run into some weird driver issues with win7 64bit when they crop up. Quote
