justapeon
The Insignia Infocast was on sale at best buy for $67 dollars, so I could not pass it up for a new toy. http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/20/insignias-infocast-gains-a-web-browser-a-little-dignity-in-the/
digip
My mother bought herself and my sister droid tablets for christmas. Hadn't had the chance to really play with it other than showing her how to access her router, which worked fine over wpa2 with no issues. I have to say though, they make neat little toys and a hell of a lot cheaper than an iPad. I might pick one up just to fart around with, but I admit, have no need for one. justapeon
I want to use it as a home automation interface and for displaying various pages from our private web server.
justapeon
Update: Downloaded the firmware image that loads from usb and I am running a web browser on the 8 inch insignia infocast aka chumby. it is just a plug and run deal with nothing to install. Now to build a server that is made especially serve out pages for it. What someone else did: Edited February 5, 2011 by inventoman
